Fire all your male managers…

At the risk of being taken out by all my male clients, and other MCP’s, I would like to state that women are superior managers. And my opinion is backed up by many studies.

Women are superior managers

“After years of analyzing what makes leaders most effective and figuring out who’s got the Right Stuff, management gurus now know how to boost the odds of getting a great executive: Hire a female. The gender differences were often small, and men sometimes earned higher marks in some critical areas, such as strategic ability and technical analysis. But overall, female executives were judged more effective than their male counterparts.” Businessweek Online
“When it comes to honesty, intelligence and a handful of other character traits they value highly in leaders, the public rates women superior to men.” Nationwide Pew Research Center Social and Demographic Trends survey.
Harvard Business School research says star women are more likely than male stars to remain persistently high performers. The logical explanation behind this statement is that women don’t get the same access to mentors and networks compared to their male counterparts. Star women have to innovate to outperform and everything they achieve is on the basis of their efforts alone — building stronger client ties, finding outside advisers, seeking opportunities with results that can be measured objectively.
So come on guys. Fire your male managers, or at least appoint a couple of women and watch how your company goes to new heights. Or would you rather hold on to a mediocre business?

I recently read an article about the same topic and how businesses actually “survived” so much better through the economic crisis we had with women as leaders. Businessweek had a very good article about this topic a couple plus years ago. Just reinstate this quote: “Women who strive to be equal to men lack ambition” – Anonymous

    “If you’ve got it, flaunt it…!” – And I’m saying this with a big smile, because some businesses should really consider to capatilise on the strengths that women bring to the business arena.
    Use girl power to get ahead and see how women are changing the face of small business enterprises.

  4. Thanks again Ansie for your comments. Men claim to be logical, and generally like scientific research. So now they have it. Appoint female managers. Maybe a group of women should start campaigning for this in business? Maybe they should get a man campaigning for women rights? Now that would be pretty unique.

I do agree with you Prof Gary through my experience, when we start this magazine (www.bizwoxmag.co.za) we where male dominated board, but it takes us almost two months to publish one Issue, some of them decided to leave then I proposed to bring females on-board then now we compile a publication in two weeks.
