Employees are as good as their management. If staff are not performing, it is due to one or more of the following reasons. Management has appointed the wrong person for the position. Management has not provided the necessary training in order for the individual to perform his job. Management has not given the necessary tools to ensure required performance. Management does not have the required leadership skills to ensure high productivity. Management does not create the environment needed to perform well. Need I carry on? If a department does not perform to expectation rather fire the manager and not the staff. Unless of course if the staff are so contaminated with bad habits that you truly believe it will be too much effort to turn them into productive staff members.
